He first turns her down stating that he had quit practice but later takes up the case as the young lovers reminded him of his amorous youth. In the climax Shiv reveals the truth and makes a key witness confess the truth before the judge. The trial is carried out in public as the case had snowballed into a major public issue. Zamaanat is a film which has been shelved for years. The film started in 1989, but stopped in 1990. During this period, some Bachchan scenes were shot and thats the only progress the movie achieved. The film was shelved till 1998 where it started again and actors like Arshad Warsi and Karishma Kapoor were paired together. The film got shelved again and finished in 2006. However, the film got delayed and finally released in 2009. Big B does a good job as the blind lawyer but his look keeps on changing from the 1980's to the 1990's to the 2000's. Arshad Warsi before Munna Bhai wasn't even a good side actor. Karishma Kapoor bores as she always did in her early films. Director S Ramanathan should have closed this project years ago. At least he wouldn't suffer a loss, yes this film was a DISASTER. On the whole, Zammanat is those kind of delayed films from the 90's(even the 80s) which released in 2009 where typical movies were not preferred at all, therefore it only provides the title BOX OFFICE BOMB, nothing else. Long Delayed movies only work if they mange to provide a good story and entertain, this one fails to do that as well just like any other long shelved movies!
